Tenor, Robert P. Banks, is a singer and actor who is equally at home on the operatic and musical theater stages. Banks has established himself a strong asset to the Minnesota performing arts community as an ensemble member and New Works Initiative participant at Minnesota Opera.
Additionally, he has been adding more roles to his repertoire, including; Gabriel in Kiss of the Spider Woman with Teatro del Pueblo, and Rolf Gruber in The Sound of Music and Almanzo Wilder in Little House on the Prairie with Frosted Glass Creative.
Originally from Georgia, Banks spent six years with The Atlanta Opera as an ensemble member and featured soloist. He performed as Giuseppe in La Traviata and French Soldier Number 1 in Silent Night on their main stage at The Cobb Energy Center. He was also cast in the Atlanta Opera Studio Tour as The Witch in Hansel and Gretel and Frederic in The Pirates of Penzance. Additionally in Atlanta, Banks made his company debut with Atlanta Concert Opera as Don Basilio in Le Nozze di Figaro in their inaugural season.
